I keep getting a pop up message, even whem my wireless Lan utility is switched off saying " Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings"

I don't have any problem connecting WIFI and suspect this is something different. It's only an irritant but can anyone tell me how to stop it?
