Sounds like either a hardware probelm or maybe the rom did not install properly on your Axim. During the past two decades which I have been working with / repairing /administrating computers and peripherals, I have never seen an OS cause physical damage to a computer. I have seen faulty capacitors explode and catch fire, but that was due to the chemicals used to clean motherboards. What exactly do you mean by "fry".
