To access from anywhere, you need to have some sort of cellular connection. This is available in a few ways:
  • Hook your cell phone to the Axim with a data cable (like those at Gomadic).
  • Connect your cell phone to Axim via Infrared (if your cell phone has this)
  • Connect your cell phone to Axim via Bluetooth (if your cell phone has this; you would also need a Bluetooth CompactFlash (CF) card for your Axim)
  • Get a cellular CF card for your Axim, to avoid having to connect it to your cell phone. These cards are the more expensive option, and usually require you to purchase a data plan through your cellular company.

If you want to connect just near a wireless networking site, simply pick up a Wireless LAN CF card. There have been numerous reports that the Dell TrueMobile Wireless LAN card has a shorter range than others on the market, so you might look into other brands of them like Socket, D-Link, Linksys, Ambicom, Netgear, or others.
