See I have an x51v, and I can't make it work with anything cept AS 4.1. It sucks about the WiFi and the bluetooth stack. I have 2 laptops and a desktop as listed:

1 laptop for work
1 laptop for home use (mine)
1 desktop (gf's)

I mainly use both laptops, and it sucks because my its hard to sync both laptops to the axim. I've tried bluetooth, yet I can't get a steady connection (keeps dropping). The cradle works fine, but I can't get the cradle to work on my work laptop.

Both laptops have XP pro, and AS 4.1 (all are fairly new). Weird.
