One of the first questions I have is....what are you trying to sync? (email, calendar, contacts, files, etc)
Make sure that you follow the steps given - install ActiveSync fully (reboot if needed). Connect your sync cable and turn your Axim on and connect it. You should be prompted to establish a new partnership - if you get to that point you should be good to go.
There are also some good threads to look at on this forum talking about problems experienced with ActiveSync 4.1 (I personally haven't had any problems with this version of ActiveSynce).
