I got my PDA in November of last year. Shortly after, I had a reminder set and my PDA got extremely HOT and the battery drained down like it couldn't get rid of it's charge fast enough. At that point, I decided to never set reminders again- no big deal.

Then I came across this thread yesterday and thought I'd try it. Got it set up correctly and verified that AS didn't come back on (after disabling AS via iLauncher when I disconnected it from my pc) with my PDA undocked and on battery power within 5 minutes as it had done before- so far, so good. Then I set an appointment with a reminder. I then purposely let the time pass for the reminder to alert me while my PDA was in standby. I turned it on about 2 hours after the reminder was set to remind me and then my x51v started to heat up and battery charge dropped like a rock. It never got hot in my pocket, but only did so after turning it on. AS was still off after being in standby for several hours, so that wasn't the problem, although I do like the fact I can turn it off now and have it remain off until docked again. I'm the type that likes to run my stuff lean and mean- the less things running in the background, the better.

Lesson learned? NEVER set a reminder again!! My watch does a better job of that anyway.
