I have the same problem.. and as I read in many axim forums.. this is a normal problem in our Axims.
I'm decided to open my axim and replace the headset jack
I found this website with all the posibles headset jacks..
Phone Jack (3.5mm)

anyone remember where I can find the Tutorial to see how disarm my axim step by step... and there I will like to see wich one is the "headset jack" to buy it
