If it was JUST a driver issue, then we'd only need a new driver for our SD readers to work - after all, the readers are mostly pins and a drive controller to handle the read/write operations.

SDHC won't work with any of the Dell ROM's from Dell. It won't work with most older SD 1.1-compatible readers. It also has speed ratings based on class, which suggest some other methods of handling read/write operations too, especially with the spec sheets I've seen.

For 4GB SD cards which violate the 1.1 standard, you'll take your chances. Some work, some won't. See the thread at the top of the Storage Card forum for a list of known-good 4GB SD cards.
