Again, if it was JUST a driver issue, then MS could've shipped an SDHC driver for existing SD card readers Again, SDHC is a standard that came about two or three years after the hardware for the Axim x50v shipped, and from what I've seen of the SD Association's whitesheets, there is some extra traffic-control stuff on there to allow it to write/read at those faster speeds.

I agree, there are probably drawbacks, akin to running an USB 2.0 device on a USB 1.1 root hub. I am watching eBay for a good deal on a 8gb SDHC and when I get one I will gladly post benchmarks, but ATM I have no SDHC cards... I dont expect them to perform at exact perfect spec, but if I can get storage capacity, that's all *I* care about, and I suspect what most ppl here care about (since we have 256mb of internal ram and can copy most files there temporarily to execute them, if speed is needed)
As for the driver, tell me, have you seen any drivers for SDHC for, say, the LISA? what about the Atari? TRS-80? these devices are obsolete, so manufacturers are nolonger writing drivers for them. the Axim line is dead, it's just sheer luck that Football's rom had drivers that were compatable.
And @ Jharsh: beleive me, if I knew DLLs and registry hacking, I'd be more than glad to write and post a driver, but sadly I dont...
