Earlier versions of ActiveSync (AS 3.8 and lower), allow for WIFI synching, but ActiveSync 4.x does not allow any pocket pc to sync via WIFI connection.
Unfortunately ALL WM5.0 (and WM6.0) devices can only use ActiveSync 4.x, so it's a moot point for those devices. However, windows mobile 2003 devices can sync to ActiveSync 3.8 and below, so WIFI syncing is still available to those devices as long as this older version of ActiveSync is used.
