Just an FYI - I had a Belkin router hooked up and it required the PC to be wired to make changes to the router. I was using Verizon DSL (with a Westell modem) as well but that had nothing to do with it. I've since upgraded to Verizon FIOS but still have the desktop wired to the router they provided.
