I'm a pretty new owner of a Dell Axim X51 (I thought it was a 51v, it's not. alas).
Since it has less space than I thought I've been careful about overloading it but this morning it took forever for a simple document to open, the Windows pinwheel kept going, I had to do a soft reset to get out of that and have since deleted a lot of too large docs.
I had enough space and storage I thought: 15% and 29%. Now I have Program Memory 26% of 50.7MB and Storage Memory of 42% of 76.2 MB.
Why does Windows take so long to open an ordinary sized document, say 166 kb, with the pinwheel going and going?
WM 5.0
I should love to buy the Pocket Plus Spb program but already have Resco File Explorer, the dictionary and some card games. That's all--some photos not large and the documents, lots of them. I haven't tried to synch any Office programs except Word 2000 since I don't use Outlook and it wanted to take over all my defaults in the PC no matter what I did.
I used the SD card to store the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary which I love, but had trouble downloading that, Active Synch didn't help much there and kept saying I didn't have enough room on my device although I'd told the Wizard to store it on the SD card. It wasn't til all was over that finally I could install it on the card from a dialog on the device. They sure keep us on tenterhooks. That took three or more tries. I made a little more room on the device but thought I had plenty of wiggle room.
The first time I tried to install it and no go, I took the card out and put it back in and then all seemed well. The Dictionary lost its menu, help, logos etc. and Pen Reader couldn't help so I had to reinstall yet again. This happened when I hit the Dismiss button for the Word of the Day rather than Hide.
