Try a hard reset. My x50 can browse some pretty big sites without crashing.
But, it used to crash and a lot. I found out is was b/c of flash player 6. Almost every big site has flash ads on it and the old 6 version couldnt handle it. So i upgraded to 7 when it came out and it happens a lot less.
Other Browsers Id Reccomend:
Netfront
Opera Mobile
These two are more advanced than pie, so they can do more.
