Zune Hard Drive hack without second icon

There's been a registry hack floating around for a while that allows the Zune to be viewable as an external hard drive from within Windows Explorer.
I don't find it incredibly useful but if you have done it, one annoying side effect of the hack is that the Zune appears twice (two different icons) in My Computer.
If you'd like to get rid of the second icon here's how:
Again, this is not the hack -- this is just a removal of the second icon for those that have already done the hack.

Run Regedit and search for "ZuneDriver".
There will be multiple hits but search until you find the folder in the USB section.
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\ ............)
There will be a hit in the right-hand pane of Regedit but you want to search until you get to the folder in the left-hand pane.

In that folder is an entry: "UseWpdPrivateInterface"
Change the value from "1" to "0".

Now go up two levels from "ZuneDriver" to the folder "Device Parameters".
In that folder is an entry: "EnableLegacySupport"
Change the value to "2".

In that same folder is an entry: "PortableDeviceType"
Change the value to "2".

That should do it.

I've tried it on my Zune 30 with firmware 2.2 and 2.3 and with Windows XP and Vista Home Premium.
Others have confirmed it with a Zune 80 and Vista Business.
One person reported that it did not work with Vista Ultimate.
I can't imagine why it wouldn't but they didn't mention any ill effects so you might want to give it a try anyway.

If you haven't yet done the Hard Drive hack, here is an app that will do it for you.
www.cppworld.com/Zune/ZuneHDPatch.exe

The app is not mine and it requires .net Framework 2.0.
Here's its support page:
