I wonder how much of the PC World article is operating from the premise that tablet/pen computing caters more to a vertical market than the general public, hence its slower adoption by most users.

Some of the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad X series that function as both tablets and laptops are pretty slick devices in their own right.
