New ROM: Shamanix_s_Grass_v2.2 from
[NEW] Shamanix`s Grass v2.2 [NEW] - xda-developers
My decision was based in large part on the contents of the report from
[UPDATED December 22] Which is the best WM6 ROM? Benchmarks of 46 ROMs + links - xda-developers and followup comments in the original thread.

I have added benchmark of this ROM to my benchmark thread. You can check the results here. Enjoy the number crunching!
@ Shamanix - this is officially the fastest ROM of any active cook, congrats!

My personal taste in ROMs is to choose the lightest and most stable ROMs. Many of the free addons that most of the chef’s include in their full ROMs are redundant with many of the commercial apps I already own. Why have HTC Home and Launcher installed when I have SPB MobileShell, PhoneSuite and PocketPlus and intend to use them.
Preparation for flashing a ROM:
1. Have all the CAB files for the apps to be installed saved to memory card or available in ActiveSync. I prefer saving the CAB files, as there may a few apps I’d only use occasionally and it is fairly simple to install, use, uninstall as necessary to preserve memory.
2. Do a soft reset on your device clear to any memory leaks then terminate any unnecessary apps.
3. Make a good sync with desktop to preserve Outlook data.
4. Many of the newer apps have a “Backup Settings” feature to preserve their configuration. PocketPlus and others can be so involved that it could take hours to get them tweaked back the way you would want them.
5. Ensure the PPC battery is mostly, if not fully, charged.
6. Do not multitask on the PC during flashing, as an interruption could hose your device.
7. Pray. Karma can be a Bitch.
Flashing the ROM:
Most of the ROMs have instructions on their thread page or in a file included in the archive itself. Most of the ROMs I have flashed merely stated many of the items above and to run the EXE from the package. I have flashed 3 or 4 different ROMs and have had no problems and found the procedure to be very simple and straightforward. (Knock on wood, here I go…)
RUUWrapper ran and installed the ROM in about 5 minutes. The device did the “Align the screen” procedure as expected from any hard reset. Upon completion it performed a customization install to install the apps and such that weren’t cooked directly into ROM.
For documentation purposes, I will connect but not establish a partnership at this time. I'll only connect and allow "My Mobiler" to install so I can get screen captures. Memory values below are prior to "My Mobiler" install and connection:

Storage: 66.06MB with 2.63 in use and 63.42 free
Program: 50.77MB with 19.25 in use and 31.52 free

Let the screen captures begin:
