CF Type I/II specifies the form factor only and has nothing to do with flash vs hard drive.

Good idea, I'll start that project right after I finished the nice case I'm building from duct tape and card board right now.
My point was, it would be easily technically feasible (and have added benefits for the Axim) to double the storage capacity by using the CF Type II form factor.
