Hi Bigtsr,

I know what you mean. The very first ones that I've designed were mostly focusing on "looking cool" and nothing more. Hence, the bright color became hard on the eyes. Later on, I determined that a good theme not only need to look cool but also appealing and easy to read.

However, one of the biggest challenge was to determine the right font color and its brightness. I agree that a lot of the themes I've posted here seem hard to the eye, but that's because I had to compensate for the color "differentiation" between what I see on my monitor and what it will look like on my pocket pc's display. Therefore, I had change the font color or make the background dimmer, transfer and test it on my pocket pc, make the necessary modifications, and repeat this cycle as much as needed.
