Did you bridge the LAN and WiFi independently from setting up ICS. ICS should do the bridging.

I agree with Box. Ad-hoc is really a hit-or-miss process. When I was doing some testing a few years back, I used two laptops both with WinXP and similar hardware (both had built in WiFi and Ethernet adapters). One easily worked as soon as I set up ICS and made an association with my PPC (at that time I think I had an iPaq with a CF WiFi card). No matter what I did with the second PC, I could never get the ad-hoc connection to work.
