I have the same problem with the direct USB connection. Both the PC and PCC say that they are connected but optons and most other thungs are grayed out. I get the same message when I connect, abd again if I try to "explore device". A mobile device window pops up, but it is empty, then the hated "critical communicatons....."pops up.

I have tried everything I know. I have been ale to sync it on a friends computer, but not on mine, so II suspect that some king of communication service on my PC is not working.

Any help would be appreciated.
