Ok. Ok. You'll have to take my word for it then that Californian red is very, very good in comparison to some of it's well known and supposedly better cousins. Snobbery in the wine world knows no bounds when it comes to reds. French and Italian are meant to be the market leaders but the American and the Australian are, in my humble and financial experience, as good as, if not better, than their more esteemed relatives. Some of them are quite simply exquisite and long may they continue to be.
Alcohol is a purely personal preference and I respect your position Fangy.
