The almost total about face is baffling for some users here, including me.

Yes, you own the site but when you institute policies, are we not allowed to question reasons if we do not understand or agree with them.

You ask for input and participation but then complain when the participation is not what you anticipate or expect.

This is just the nature of forums.

The flipflop is baffling after the staff had been so adamant on the exclusion of this discussion.

Your site, your rules, but do not be surprised if people question what they do not understand or agree with.

This site has been around for how many years now? and you just now seeing that you will have people question a policy like this no matter which way you go with it?
When Chris & the moderators discussed the policy ad nauseum last year, we went around and around about it before we settled on it. At the time Chris mentioned that he might want to revisit it again sometime in the future.

You seem to think there is some kind of hidden agenda here....there isn't. Lately, I've read threads from users who have come here seeking help when they bricked their devices by attempting to update it to WM6.0. The policy made it difficult for anyone here to help them. In some respects, those threads have been the impetus to relaxing our position.

Don't read so much into this policy change. Relaxing the forum policy makes it easier for forum members to help users who come here seeking help. People who really want to upgrade their pocket pcs to these questionable ROMs will go ahead and do it with or without a policy and they will do so at their own risk.
