Thanks for the explanations and the links. Now I will expand the question to be more specific to the IPAQ 210 211 214 -

Do any headphones *NOT* work with the A2dp?
Do headphones have to specifically say in their profiles A2dp to support it, or if it says BT stereo headphones, is it to be taken for granted (don't flame me!!! :) )

It seems to me that the motorola s9's seem to be a very popular choice.
