You have to look at the BT stack on each device to see what profiles it supports.
Profiles are the specific jobs/abilities/tasks that a device can pair to. We will ASSUME that a new PPC (BTv2) can pair to all available devices and support whatever profiles are current (it was an issue when some devices were BTv1 and some were BTv2)
So if you buy a headset that shows Profile X, you could assume that the PPC will support it.
EXCEPTION to the above is with VERIZON PPC Phones as they have an annoying habit of crippling the BT stack to prevent filesharing and such... I suppose others may as well
