Really old topic it seems, but nice 'hack' regardless. I was able to make this work on my dying x30 mid as well. Unfortunately, most of the nice pics I wanted to put up lose a lot when converted down to 8 bit bitmaps, but I guess one can't have everything.

As NitroHex was shareware and didn't allow me to save files without registering, I got another one from Download.com ... HexEdit 2.5 (Free edition).
