x50v media controller in vehicle
i have a laptop with a cracked screen that i would like to use as a media/nav computer in my car, with a usb HD. in the long run, i would like to get an in-dash touchscreen to permanently replace the cracked laptop one, but i was wondering if there was a way (besides remote desktop) to control Windows Media Player, or Winamp for that matter, from my Ax. i know Winamp Remote uses the web interface (which is a great idea) however, it streams media to the remote, not controlling the host computer. and i have already ruined the stereo output on the axim, which is a big reason for wanting a permanently mounted computer, with stereo output to my amplifier. let alone the fact i'd have much more media at my disposal.

basically, i need a network media controller.

i would prefer something with a very easy to read/use interface- i love the web idea b/c it'd use next to no proc power. if there were an application tho, im sure interface skins would be tweakable. does anyone have any ideas?

***** mods, please move this to the appropriate 3rd party software area*****
sorry, i wasn't paying attention.
