Awesome video! I have known about this thread since it began but for some reason never checked it out until now. :rolling: I recently sent my x51v to PPC Techs for the RAM upgrade along with a head phone jack replacement and back up battery replacement. They were extremely friendly. I was able to talk to the people who were working on my unit a total of three times in the process and they were great. also they basically only charged me for parts for the jack and the battery since I got the upgrade. I can't promise that they would do that for everyone but none the less they will probably give a good price break if you have multiple services done. But....... there are some problems. They forgot to replace the back up battery and I caught it because in the email they sent me that service wasn't listed. I called them real quick and they took care of it. I think that they might have rushed that job so they could get my unit back in the mail that day or something and they forgot to put one of the top screws in and I think that the ribbon cable to the buttons on the bottom might have been insecurely attached since they don't always work now and the speaker didn't work for two weeks after I got it back. After this video I now have the confidence that I can master these problems!
The reason I mention all of this is because there are so many people in this thread asking about things like replacing the headphone jack. Unless you are highly skilled with a soldering iron and have one that is small enough to do the job I would recommend you send it to PPC Techs. It doesn't cost much (especially if you save your pennies and do the right thing by also getting the RAM upgrade:approve:). If you look at the motherboard in the video you will see that the headphone jack is right up next to the CF/SD card slot and I personally wouldn't want to even try to remove it much less try soldering in such a small space (several millimeters).
