Run your 45-second sleep temporary problem workaround again, so you can get audio.
1. Start-->Run
2.Type in "devmgmt.msc" (No quotes)
3. Find Sound,video, and game controllers
4. Please right-click on "High Definition Audio Device" or "Sigmatel HD Audio Driver" (There should be only one of the two).
5.Uninstall
6. Restart your computer
7. Vista should
automatically recongnize your audio card and install EITHER "High Definition Audio Device" or Sigmatel's own HD audio driver.
Additional instructions:
If it does NOT auto-install the driver:
1. Download the Sigmatel driver for your computer here:
WIndows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit) Sigmatel HD Audio Driver 6.10.5405.0
2. Follow instructions as prompted.
If the problems occurs again after Windows auto-installs the driver:
1. Go back to "devmgmt.msc" (no quotes)
2. Uninstall the driver that Windows installed.
3. Follow the instructions above.
