Hi all,

I have a Ipaq 4100 and I currently use a SD card Emtec 2 GB (up to 133x).
I am experiencing problems while transferring text data from and to
one Dell laptop with Windows 2000 OS.
To do the transfer, I use a USB memory card reader (and not the
HP Ipaq station).
The problem is that one text file (a source code) is filled (but not completely)
with a mix of another text file and binary data.
This happens when I first edit the file after the card insertion and
detection by the computer.
The same thing happens when I plug the card again in the
Ipaq, with the same behaviour, but not the same files.
When I do the same transfers with a Dell desktop with Linux 2.6.24
or with a Windows XP PC, there is no problem.

So I think that there might be a problem with respect to the
file systems which is supported by Windows 2000 is
not compatible with the file system used by the memory
card (and supported by the Ipaq).

I did not modify the SD card file system, it is an out-of-the-box
memory card.

This is the result of "parted" on linux :

What I conclude is that the SC card has a fat16 file system.

But I cannot find any informations about what file systems
can be managed by Windows Mobile 2003, which is the
OS used by my Ipaq 4100 :
- FAT 12 ?
- FAT 16 ?
- FAT 32 ?
The same for my windows 2000 system.
