I've lost about $5K so far this year. But, gained about $1K overall with all my investments combined. Of course, last year I gained about $5K overall. Fangy - a couple of suggestions. Get yourself a Whole Life insurance policy while you're young. I have two that were started when I was 16 & 18. Also, start a bond allotment when you join the Navy. I've gotten 4 bonds a year since 1967 and still have most of them.
