I had this problem with an x50v that I bought off a member on this board. I noticed it right away, wlan driver not found, also the cf slot card unrecognized even when inserting the blank cf card (2003, se A05). After several soft/hard resets wifi worked, but it was very inconsistent-sometimes all day with no problems, though once the led stopped turning on, it would take a hard reset to make wifi operational again. I could never resolve the cf slot issue however.
I went through this sequence of testing from 2003se, wm5 a01, wm5 a12, wm6 a02, and lennys wm6.1 a09. I read most of the thread, and I noticed no difference between the operating systems. I ended up selling it on ebay, noting the cf and wifi problems, which was fine, since I got it in the first place for $45 shipped.
