Since my post was delayed there were a couple after it, people may not realize an earlier post back up there appeared later, so I'm reposting it.
Thanks.
I am trying to figure out how to connect to a remote Wi-Fi like Panera Bread.
In setting up the home system he discusses acquiring the network with the X50. I used this page wifi.aximsite.com/axim-03se dot html
(Apparently, if I include links my posts are delayed, so I'm doing the link like this. The clickable link is in my original post above) since my unit has WM03SE. He says,

Once activated and within range of a wireless network, the PPC will ask you for the type of connection (Figure WM03SE-3). Typically, you should select Work for a home network, then tap Connect and you will be automatically connected.

Nothing like this happens for me. None of the screens in figures WM03SE-3 through 5 appear.
The troubleshooting stuff seems to be for no signal. I have signal and 3-5 wireless networks are listed in Sites in Dell WLAN. My own is listed as having a strong signal. I can tap any of them on the list and they highlight but this seems to do nothing else.
If I can't get the wi-fi working it is one of the two primary reasons I bought this device.
