[TIP] - Organizational tip for iPod Touch / iPhone

Ever find yourself hunting through all the apps on your iPod or iPhone to remove old or unwanted apps? One way to make this easier is to drag a newly installed app off to the right of the screen to create a new virtual page—and use this virtual page, a sort of sandbox, to hold all new programs for evaluation.

Here's how it might work. Suppose on your next app download install you press and hold down on its icon, then as it quivers drag it to the right until it is on its own page. Release and click the action button. You then decide to download several new freeware apps to look at, and move them to the same page as the previous app. You proceed to run the apps. After a period of time, say one week, or any interval you choose, you can quickly flick back to this sandbox screen and remove any programs you either didn't care for, have no use/interest in, or move those apps you want to keep to another page.

This can also make it easier to rearrange your pages so that each page represents a certain category. Page 1 would be the most important apps that you use on a daily basis, perhaps productivity or internet connectivity, page 2 could be GPS type apps, page 3 for games, and so forth. With the final "sandbox" page, you can store apps that fall into the "undecided" category for sorting later, hopefully bringing some semblance of order to your iPod Touch or iPhone.
