6th Birthday Contest - HTC Fuze

My first "PDA" was some little device that I don't even remember the brand but it was a proprietary thing that was "what you see is what you get." You could not sync or add software - just a dumb calendar and todo list.
Then I got a little PDA from a Palm spinoff (was it HandSpring??) but it was too limited in memory and function.
So, in '03, I bought a Sony Clie' (PEG--TJ35/U) just before Christmas. I still have it and it still works! I like the functions, that I could add software & the display was really nice. But I was frustrated with Sony's implementation of the Palm software. I could never get it to sync well and I could not get the updated Palm Sync s/w to work with the device. I finally put it into a drawer and it remains there today.
Next, I bought a Motorola V551 phone that allowed me to get online (via a proxy) and do some stuff. It was better and worse than the offline Clie.
Finally, in 2006, I bought a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard) with WM5. I was delighted that it would connect to the REAL Internet (not a proxy) and that I could sync the contacts & calendar, etc. I found more software than I could use (and bought more than I could afford). Then I started loading up a lot of free (downloaded) software from the Internet. It gave me a lot of capability but WM5 was a drag - especially with too much stuff loaded up on the device.
Sites such as your Mobility Site/Axim Site encouraged me to stretch my nerve a bit. So, after a few months, I took the dive and reformatted the device and loaded up a "cooked" version of WM6. That OS, plus a few other apps have made my device a totally integral part of my life. I RARELY go anywhere without it! I even added an external GPS & installed turn-by-turn software. My Wizard does it all.
But, I have had to replace the device once and the current device is showing a lot of physical wear & tear. Also, new technologies abound and my Wizard's 200mhz processor is SLLOOOWWWW. I am beginning to get "upgrade fever" and the Fuze looks very appealing. However, if I am to receive one for Christmas, it will either be from Santa (VERY unlikely) or this contest (hopefully, a sure thing!). Thanks for the opportunity to enter.
