Wow, that's a long wait. I better put this on my calendar.
It feels to me like converged devices are the way of the future, like it or not. Seems like there's a sizeable segment of consumers who are pressing for phones with built-in GPS and preloaded software (mostly subscription-based) integrated into the OS. Hopefully more intelligent power control of the GPS device will be better implemented so that it would try to grab positional fixes when a GPS app was active and changes in position were detected within the user's particular GSM/CDMA cell to reduce power consumption. Likely the time to fix lag will be continually reduced as well.
