Web Site Suggestions

I haven't purchased anything from cases.com yet, so I hope some Web site suggestions will count.

The site looks pretty good, but the Home page could be made lighter. For example, you have 9 tabs of popular devices above the main navigation tabs. Then you have a list on the left side of manufacturers and popular devices, which seems to make those 9 tabs redundant. I'd either get rid of them completely or replace that area with a "Select your device" area that used drop down lists to select your carrier, OEM and model.

Also, I'd consider moving the About Us section on the Home page to its own page. It's only really needed the first time somebody visits, not every time.

Once that's done, the Promotions section is sort of sitting on the right alone. As it's not even clickable (at least not now) and seems redundant with the Current Specials section, I'd remove Promotions, too.

Those changes would give the center column (now the right column) more room to breathe and you could fit in another column of cases.

My next set of comments are generic to almost every page.

The following payment line:

Quote:
Website is accepting payments and secured by:

should be reworded as:

Quote:
We accept payments from and are secured by:

That changes the passive voice to active and makes it more personal ("We" instead of "Website").

Also, you might consider accepting payments from PayPal.

The bottom line of every page is wrong and confusing.

Quote:
Copyright (c) 2009. Aluron, Inc. All rights reserved. By using this website you are complying with all policies.

First, it's not 2009 yet. :) Second, what policies are we complying with? While I find that line ridiculous on any site (I doubt it's legally binding buried at the bottom of the page with no user acceptance), on most sites it links to a Terms & Conditions page that spells out the policies I'm (supposedly) agreeing with. There's no link here. It should probably say "By using this website, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions." (The link won't work.)

My last comments deal with specific pages.

On the Articles page, I'd reorder the articles alphabetically to make them easier to find and use the same font used for the body of most other pages.

Finally, the Site Map isn't really what most people consider a Site Map. It's almost the same as the 9 tabs at the top of the Home page instead of an hierarchical overview of the site. Either get rid of it or make it more like a standard Site Map. If you decide to keep it, use the same font used for the body of most other pages.

I hope those suggestions are useful.
