nope... just go outside. the GPS works with ANY app that uses it.
Google Maps
Live Maps (Microsoft)
GPS Photo in the camera
etc.
Verify that you have the GPS configured to use COM4 and is managed by windows.
Settings \ system \ external GPS \ Prog port = COM4 \ hardware = none/4800
Settings \ system \ agps settings \ disable \ disable
Then run QuickGPS from your programs menu and enable and auto download (since you have no dataplan, allow it to use activesync)
