The new WM6.1 Lenny v11 ROM i loaded said my backup is dead but I never noticed a problem yet (aside from my main battery maxing charge at like 90%)

An X51V doesn't have a backup battery as such, just a small capacitor to keep the clock alive when the battery is removed.
If your time and date remains correct after changing batteries, then your capacitor is OK
It sounds to me like Lenny's ROM has a minor bug, since it should not be reporting the status of the 'back-up' battery at all.
