Was MSN installed on the device from the factory? If so, you may have only deleted the shortcut for MSN and could recreate it.

If you can't recreate the shortcut, then a hard reset will restore the device to its factory settings. If MSN was installed on the device when you took it out of the box, this will restore MSN to working order. Or course, a hard reset will wipe all your files and any applications you've installed to the device, so you'll need to be prepared to set everything up again from scratch.
