just in case someone else reads this threat...here is an update :
GPSProxy did not work...bought the Franson GPS Gate and...hey--it works.....
well....only after some time of fiddeling around and swearing a lot...but anyway, it works....
only it does not like the british round about....always ( and I mean always ) freezes at the second or
third roundabout...whether in the car, or walking...very strange..I tried everything...I now guess the software was developped by some kind of roundabout-hater
this is a bit ennoying if you rely on the GPS in cities...it tends to freeze exactely then when you would appreciate some directions....better to be alone in the car because of all the swearing
anyway, never freezes on the continent ...but then there are not too many of these speed-restricting things around...really , very strange
on the good side Garmin has on its SD card a small world edition ( my editionis for UK and Ire only ), so that is great...only no street names etc
that means I do not need to upload nRoute etc.
So half a success story..if it was not for the britophob software producer
I will now get a bluetooth receiver...and hope my wife will not find out how much money I spend
