Ipaq 3870 hard Reset doesn't work.
hard reset doesn't work. Holding keys 1 and 4 while resetting for 5,10,30 seconds
produces a soft reset, NOT
the desired hard reset. I can remove the battery, but that little connector won't
do it many times before it breaks.
Google finds others with this problems, but no solutions.
I do a lot of experimenting with this system. Factory reset would save
me some trouble. I just wasted a day trying to make the serial port work.
Pulling the battery fixed it.
Also, that's the way you put it into "shipping mode"
so the battery doesn't discharge and murder itself between projects.
The rom version is 2.15.12 ENG.
I think that's the stock version???
My 3850 hard resets just fine. I'm a little fuzzy, but when I replaced the 3850
battery, it refused to do anything until I stuck it in the charging cradle. That's
a symptom of being in hard reset mode. Reconnecting the 3870 battery
makes it power up by itself
.
Is there ANY way to hard/factory reset the 3870 without removing the battery?
Or a way to force it into battery disconnect/shipping/ mode.
