my favorite Ipod Touch apps so far
I have a brand new IPod Touch (the 32G).
So far my favorite apps are (these are all free - I have not yet waded into the paid apps - with one exception, below):
PandoraBox - Provides a daily list of new apps and those which have been reduced in price (even those which have gone free!). With the number of apps out there, this is really helpful if you look at it every day.
LinkedIn: The mobile version of the business networking site.
TripIt: sign up, email your travel confirmation emails to them, and bingo! All your travel plans in one place.
Yahoo: my isp already uses it so everything converts nicely to mobile.
Stanza: ebook reader capable of reading multiple ebook formats. You can order directly from your IPod or order from your computer and save to a "bookshelf" accessible from your Touch.
Restaurant Nutrition: Nutritional Information for restaurants and fast food places. I did notice a few errors in it, but it's editable.
I purchased one app, and unfortunately it's a little bit of a disappointment. Pocket Informant was my favorite app when I used a Dell Axim, but this version (evidently due to Apple's rules, not those of the app's producer) does not sync directly with an Outlook calendar. You need to set it up through Google Calendar and I have not yet figured out how to do this or whether I want my calendar on Google. WebIS, the producer, is promising this functionality, but for now, it's cumbersome to use.
More later as I explore the wide world of apps.
