IPod touch v Axim
I had an X30 for a long time and recently bought an IPod touch (2nd generation, 32gb). I was not a heavy-duty business or gaming user of the Axim, mostly used it for calendar functions, email/internet using wifi and basic games. I have to say that using WiFi on the Touch is a joy - it locates available networks automatically and shows them with concise descriptions where there are multiple networks available. Also, even without jailbreaking the Touch, there are huge numbers of very inexpensive or free apps you can add to it - much less expensive than the WM apps.
Disclaimer: I never had an X50 and it's version of the WM OS so I don't know how that differs from my X30, nor do I yet have any experience with battery life on the Touch. I do know that for the types of things I use (I don't have thousands of songs/movies/tv, nor any huge-sized apps), the 32gb is way enough for me. I'm just sharing my own limited experience.
On the other hand, there's always this...I gave the X30 to my sister who had an old Palm vX and she's pretty amazed by all the stuff it can do, and she loves it.
P.S. for those of you who have IPods, were you aware of the Ipod forum on the Mobility Site? I'm very surprised that it doesn't get more posts considering so many people have them...
