Multitouch devices along with better multitouch oses will make tablet pcs more popular.
But i agree with the original poster that touch screens are everywhere. UPS, Fedex, etc companies all use touch devices.
It seems that touch screens are ideal in super portable situations, where the device usually is being used without a desk. Once you are on a desk a mouse/laptop touchpad is almost easier to use versus reaching over a screen to touch it.
