When I get AS messing around on me like that I:
1. Run detect and repair on outlook. See if it fixes. If not ->
2. Run SCANPST on any PSTs. If not fixed ->
3. Tell move all email and calendar items to PST so try to sync empty calendar items.
Then if 3 fixes, you can move the stuff back in there in chunks if you want, just keep testing to see if you move back a problematic item.
