Part of the problem is that TCPMP can play H.264 videos with FFPMEG plugin, but they come out choppy. The CoreAVC plugin for TCPMP is much better at playing these videos, but it was pulled from circulation until the licensing issues are resolved.

For the audio track of "video iPod" videos, you will have to have the AAC plugin as well, which has its own set of licensing issues.

With FeederReader, you don't have to transfer the videos from your desktop at all. Just download directly to your Axim and play using the player of your choice.
