... most people don't seem to have problems, but mine have always been an issue and this has been the fix. If you don't have Tweaks2k2 (I recommend it if you don't) then you should be able to find the Registry key for this by searching the site or google.

Thanks. I'll review that fix. Another possiblity. Haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it might work. I noticed that my "power save" when using external power (when the device is cradled) was checked. That means the device is "off" when I have it scheduled for backing up at 1 AM. When I turn it on in the morning, the boot process possibly conflicts with the initiation of the backup. I'll try that and let you know if the system still freezes.
