Since you must have just gotten a new Axim if you have PPC 2003, I agree that you have a little more of a beef. I guess I'm really talking about those that just HAVE to have the upgrade to their existing Axims NOW or their life will be incomplete. For those, take a breather and wait it out a bit.
For those of you who received a new Axim with PPC 2003 and it's running slower than expected: hang in there; I'm confident it'll be fixed in a matter of a few weeks or so, and it is usable in the meantime. If anyone has a new Axim with PPC 2003 that is completely non-functional, opt for the replacement as you're in the 30 day window, and continue to do so until you get a working Axim. With the Advance program, they'll mail you one before you send yours back.
