I suggest that you read the various other posts in this section on the subject. We've clearly stated...numerous times, what the problems are. But I'll run them down once again.
The system starts out very sluggish to begin with. The more the device is used, the slower things get. After about 10 minutes of use... it locks up requiring a soft reset. Then the cycle starts all over again. Because of the sluggish and degrading performance, ActiveSync has difficulty syncing data. I had to perform 3 soft-resets in order for AS to get all the way through the syncing process.
We're not talking about picky users who expect and demand lightning performance... hobbling slowly along would be something that could be tolerated until a fix arrives. But this thing is unusable. Half-way through editing an appointment, the device froze. I could tell it was about to because it took over 5 secs for the pop-up keyboard to appear.

Since you must have just gotten a new Axim if you have PPC 2003, I agree that you have a little more of a beef. I guess I'm really talking about those that just HAVE to have the upgrade to their existing Axims NOW or their life will be incomplete. For those, take a breather and wait it out a bit.

No one in this thread is complaining about not having the upgrade available so I wouldn't have thought to interpret your comments that way.

For those of you who received a new Axim with PPC 2003 and it's running slower than expected: hang in there; I'm confident it'll be fixed in a matter of a few weeks or so, and it is usable in the meantime.

I don't know where this "confidence" is coming from... but as of today, Dell has failed to acknowledge that there is a problem at all.
The first step in resolving a problem is acknowledging that there is one.
Don't you think it is strange that NO one with an Axim running WM2003 has come forward saying, "bah, it isn't as bad as they're making it out to be."? Funny how people on the sidelines (NOT experiencing these problems) have a "better handle" on the situation. (sigh)
