oh, btw.. as a side note.. as the x/y pitches on the Axim are linear (i.e. 0,0=topleft) I've tried using memcpy as well to blit to the screen, this gives me about 45fps instead of 40..
on the 3970 this doesn't work as all as the screen is oriented 0,0=bottomleft (which to me sounds like it would be slower than the linear model of the Axim)
